The daily routine is the order of the day’s events. This schedule is the same every day. The routine gives children a sense of structure and security. The heart of the HighScope daily routine is the plan, do, reviewsequence, here children make choices about what they will do, carry out their ideas, and reflect and talk about their activities.

Other significant times of the day include:
Large Group Time: when all the children and teachers do an activity together such as music and movement, or a cooperative activity. This helps children to build a sense of community.
Small Group Time: when children re-join the same small group, they were in for planning and recall. The teacher plans an activity to meet the interests and level of the group. This ensures that children get more individual attention and support.
Outside time: Children and adults spend at least 30 minutes outside every day, enjoying vigorous and often noisy and messy play in the fresh air. Our nursery provides a wet suit for each child.
Transition Times: Transitions are the minutes between other blocks of the day, as well as arrival and departure times. Teachers plan meaningful learning experiences for these times, which keeps children engaged and minimizes disruption.
