Board of management

Our Nursery is managed by a Board of Directors, there are 7 directors on the board with representation from Finance, HR, Local Business, Building and Planning, Childcare, Barnardo’s, Community.

The Board of management of Our Nursery developed and enacted the policies, and reports by virtue of the by-laws of the organisation.

These policies and general operating procedures were enacted and are being adopted for the effective operation of Our Nursery.

The board of management is responsible for governance, strategic oversight, compliance, and ensuring the organization meets its objectives while acting in the best interests of stakeholders

The day-to-day functional implementation of these policies and procedures is the responsibility of Our Nursery manager and the chairperson.

The annual reports and financial statements reflect the status, events, and financial status of the organisation.

Maureen Dunne (Chair Person)

Maureen Dunne is the National Workshop Manager with Dyslexia Ireland where she manages a network of after school initiatives that specifically support dyslexic students. She has also worked within the third level sector in the areas of access and disability as well as in the community sector supporting return to employment for the long-term unemployed. She has taught students from early primary to adults both at home and abroad.

Paul Marson

Paul Marson, is health and safety professional with over 25 years’ experience in Health and Safety Management within aviation, logistics, manufacturing, healthcare, childcare, emergency response and the food industry. Paul started his career in safety in Intel Ireland where he headed up the Emergency Response Team for one of four shift structures ensuring preparedness and response to all emergencies on site from, hazardous chemical leaks to medical emergencies, fires etc. for the entire site.

Paul then became the Health and Safety Manager for DHL Express (Ireland) Ltd, developing, implementing and maintaining the H&S management system for Ireland. Paul also managed all personal injury claims for the organisation, resolving in excess of 45 high court claims while maintaining zero new claims over a three year period.

Paul then went on to start his own company Marson Safety, operating as a Safety, Health and Wellbeing consultant, providing expert advice, support and training in implementing H&S management systems and improving H&S culture for clients organisations.

Paul now works for consultancy firm as their senior H&S consultant. Paul also develops and delivers Health and Safety training, including First Aid Responder, Cardiac First Response, Manual Handling, Fire Safety, Working at Heights and Behavioural Safety.

Patricia Stafford 

Patricia Stafford was an Associate Professor in Primary & Early Childhood Education for 25 years, first at the Froebel College of Education in Blackrock and later at the Froebel Department of Primary and Early Childhood Education at Maynooth University, where she was also Deputy Head of Department. During this time, she led the development and management of three Early Childhood undergraduate degrees and a Master degree with specialisation in Early Childhood Education. Previously, Patsy worked directly with children in early childhood classrooms for 15 years. She was also involved in the development of the LINC programme and has been on the Steering Committee for LINC since its inception. 

Annette Kearns

Annette Kearns began her early childhood career as an owner/manager of a sessional preschool and is passionate about ensuring all children are provided with the best possible learning opportunities in early years’ settings.  Having achieved a BSc in Education & Training, an MSc in Education and Training Management and a Post Graduate Diploma in Special Educational Needs and Inclusion, Annette worked as an Early Years Specialist with Early Childhood Ireland supporting practitioners throughout the country to achieve best practice.  Now, as the Placement Coordinator and Lecturer in the Froebel Dept. working primarily with Early Years educators, Annette believes the best way to ensure this quality provision is to provide a curriculum for the trainee educators that meets their needs in a relatively young and evolving sector.  To this end, Annette’s doctoral research is in the area of early language and literacy development.  Her particular interest is in researching how best to educate the educators in this area to ensure children are supported to develop the appropriate skills in preschool that will ensure they are primed to become good readers later on

Robert Murphy

Robert Murphy was born and raised in Ballymun and has over 34 years retail experience trading in the area. Robert started out with a 2-person van shop on Balbutcher Lane and today, operates a SuperValu, Centra, Murphy’s Off-licence and Post Office business in Ballymun, employing 90 local people. Robert and his team have worked very hard to achieve continued growth and pride themselves on customer service, value for money, and being an important part of the Ballymun community. 

Robert has a Degree in Retail Management and he is extremely committed to the socio-economic success of Ballymun.

Rebecca Kelly

I am a commercially focused Senior Finance leader with 20 years experience across privately owned companies and multinationals. I have broad, multi-disciplined experience across areas such as investment appraisal, project finance, FP&A, procurement, commercial contracting, financial reporting, controls and risk management. I have proven ability to influence effectively across all business levels and functions and in balancing the expectations of owners, JV partners, financiers and stakeholders. I have a strong track record of driving growth through building and developing high performing teams and leading and influencing cross functional and external resources.
